BESS Market Expansion Expert - Build the Next European BESS Platform

I’m working exclusively on a confidential opportunity with a rapidly growing European energy trading and optimisation business that is building out its BESS platform across Europe. This is not a traditional BESS development or trading position. The opportunity is to help build a new business line, identifying the markets, assets and commercial opportunities that can form the next phase of the company’s European growth.

You will work across:

• Market expansion – identifying and assessing new European BESS markets and revenue opportunities
• Asset origination – developing relationships with battery owners, developers and key market participants
• Market access – understanding TSO requirements, balancing/ancillary products, capacity mechanisms, grid codes and technical requirements
• Asset onboarding – supporting the process from commercial agreement through registration, testing and go-live
• Optimisation & trading – working closely with the trading and quantitative teams to maximise the value of contracted BESS assets
• Business development – helping shape the proposition, commercial model and strategy as the platform scales

The company already has battery assets under optimisation in Europe, with further growth planned across multiple markets. The ambition is to build a significant European BESS optimisation portfolio and establish a scalable platform around it.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, trading, origination and quantitative teams in a relatively clean environment, giving you significant exposure and ownership as the European portfolio grows.

I’m particularly interested in speaking with individuals who have 2–5+ years of hands-on experience within a specific European BESS market, particularly those with exposure to BESS optimisation, energy trading, market access, balancing/ancillary services or battery asset onboarding.
