About the Role
Commercial Business Developer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) A fast-growing, well-capitalised energy storage developer, owner, and operator is seeking a Commercial Business Developer to support the expansion of its battery energy storage systems (BESS) portfolio across the UK and Continental Europe. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will focus on originating, evaluating, and progressing new BESS investment opportunities, as well as structuring and negotiating third-party route-to-market agreements to optimise and hedge revenues across a growing portfolio of assets under management.

The organisation is executing an ambitious growth strategy and offers significant career development opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in scaling the platform and contributing to the continued enhancement of commercial, analytical, and pricing capabilities.

It is a dedicated developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale battery energy storage systems, with an initial focus on the UK and Germany and plans to expand across additional European markets. The portfolio includes several hundred megawatts of operational and under-construction BESS projects, positioning the business as one of the larger independent storage platforms in Europe.

Projects are strategically located near major demand centres or in regions characterised by grid congestion, price volatility, and system constraints, enabling strong commercial performance and system value. The management team brings decades of experience across power generation, energy commercialisation, risk management, and battery storage, with a strong track record of building and scaling successful energy businesses.
