About the Role
Our client, an integrated oil company in London, is looking to hire an experienced operator to be responsible for bunker operations in NWE. 

The Bunker Operator is responsible for the smooth and efficient execution of fuel oil and bunker trades, including the coordination of barge deliveries, cargo movements, and all related documentation. The role involves close collaboration with traders, suppliers, terminals, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery, minimize operational risks, and maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute bunker and fuel oil deliveries
  • Coordinate with traders, suppliers, terminals, surveyors, shipping agents, and barge operators to ensure accurate and timely operations.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and manage operational issues such as delays, contamination risks, or quantity discrepancies.
  • Support demurrage and claims handling, including laytime calculations and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international marine fuel regulations (e.g., IMO 2020, MARPOL).
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to the trading and finance teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in bunker/fuel oil operations, preferably with barge coordination exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of marine fuel logistics, delivery documentation, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with port and terminal operations, barge scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple deliveries concurrently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with shipping or trading systems is an advantage.
