Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Ventilation / CFD Engineer to support data centre projects across Europe, with a particular focus on generator environments, airflow, ventilation and thermal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review CFD models for data centre and generator environments.
  • Analyse airflow, temperature distribution, pressure and heat rejection around generator installations.
  • Assess ventilation requirements for diesel generator rooms, plant rooms and critical infrastructure areas.
  • Review generator air intake, exhaust and cooling-air arrangements.
  • Identify airflow issues such as recirculation, hot-air re-ingestion, dead zones and inadequate ventilation.
  • Produce CFD reports, technical assessments and recommendations for design improvements.
  • Work closely with engineering, project, commissioning and client teams.
  • Support the design and optimisation of mechanical ventilation systems, including fans, louvers, ductwork and air distribution.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and engineering calculations.
  • Support site investigations and validation of CFD results against site measurements and commissioning data.
  • Provide technical input during design, construction and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable project specifications, performance requirements and relevant standards.
Key Experience
  • Strong background in CFD and ventilation engineering.
  • Experience within data centres, power generation, industrial facilities or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of generator cooling, combustion air, ventilation and heat rejection.
  • Experience using CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, Siemens STAR-CCM+, FloVENT/6Sigma or similar.
  • Understanding of HVAC, airflow modelling and thermal dynamics.
  • Experience working with large diesel generators / gensets would be highly beneficial.
  • Comfortable working remotely with international project teams and travelling to sites across Europe.
