Country Manager – Italy (Milan, On-site)
My client is looking for a proven leader to step into a pivotal Country Director role based in Milan. They are a fast-growing, internationally backed renewable energy platform with a significant operational footprint across Europe. With Italy as one of the largest and most strategic markets in the portfolio, this provides an opportunity for real ownership and visible impact from day one. You will be the senior in-country representative, owning the local agenda end-to-end and partnering closely with an international leadership team to drive operational performance, organisational effectiveness, and long-term value creation.
This is not a “steady state” leadership hire. The Italian organisation is in transformation, and they need someone who can bring clarity, structure, and momentum, whilst be able to build a high-performing culture and strengthening governance across the business.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the Italy organisation with a visible, on-site leadership style and clear communication
- Drive change across culture, ways of working, and performance expectations
- Strengthen accountability, operational discipline, and governance
- Lead initiatives to improve the performance and stability of the Italian portfolio
- Develop and mentor local talent; build capability for the next stage of growth
- Act as the key interface between international functional leads / HQ and the local execution teams
- Enhance relationships with stakeholders, authorities, and partners across Italy
- A strong track record leading a country, business unit, or comparable organisation
- Clear evidence of change management / turnaround delivery (cultural + commercial/operational)
- Experience operating effectively in an international, matrix environment
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and challenging the status quo
- Must be based in Milan, Italy (on-site role)
