Regional SME Battery and Future Mobility - North AmericaAbout the Role
We’re working with a confidential battery materials startup that’s redefining how battery data is captured and used to accelerate performance gains. Though still early-stage, they’re already revenue-generating, with dozens of commercial customers actively validating their product.
This is a rare chance to join a deeply technical team backed by strong IP, with a real-world product and a clear path to scale. You’ll be one of the first hires building their internal data infrastructure—laying the foundation for how test data flows, gets stored, and powers decision-making across the business.
About the Role:
This is a greenfield opportunity to architect and build a data infrastructure that captures, organizes, and visualizes battery testing data. You’ll be at the intersection of software and hardware—working closely with scientists and engineers who are validating next-gen electrolyte formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build an internal database and ETL pipeline for battery cycling and testing data
- Collaborate with the lab team to collect and structure hardware test data (e.g., Arbin systems)
- Build front-end or dashboard tools to visualize battery performance trends
- Help establish data hygiene and storage best practices as the company scales
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years in data engineering or data science roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines and internal databases from scratch
- Familiarity with battery data or test equipment (Arbin, Core, Novonix, etc.)
- Proficient in Python and SQL; able to create data visualizations
Nice to Have:
- Front-end development for internal tools
- Background in or passion for battery tech, energy storage, or materials science
Location: Boston, MA (On-site only)
