About the Role
My client is a growing owner-operator in the Colocation space. With multiple data centers located across six major markets, the company continues to acquire key network interconnection facilities and develop Meet Me Rooms (MMRs) and wholesale data center space within those properties to deliver the highest quality and most robust direct network interconnections in the market.

To support continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced sales and business development professional to lead expansion efforts in the Houston market and nationally. This seasoned salesperson will build and maintain customer relationships at the data center site level, identify business opportunities within metropolitan telecommunications markets, and proactively network to develop new business connections.

The role manages the full customer life cycle focused on Meet Me Room and wholesale data center offerings, while also supporting existing building customers and expanding value as their enterprises grow.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of metropolitan telecommunications, colocation, and cloud services, along with broader familiarity across national markets related to colocation and network carriers.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales activity for Meet Me Room and colocation products
• Source and develop new and existing client relationships
• Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activity
• Create and deliver effective proposals and RFP responses
• Stay current on industry trends and market developments
• Present the company’s value proposition to C-level executives and key decision makers
• Communicate effectively with executive leadership and peers
• Support marketing initiatives as needed
• Handle customer inquiries, site tours, and pricing quotes
• Identify, qualify, and manage ideal MMR and building prospects
• Manage contract execution and provide feedback on acceptable terms
• Understand onboarding processes for new colocation customers
• Work with operations and engineering to qualify cabinet and cage layouts, rack and cable management, fiber, and network equipment
• Provide ad-hoc support and participate in assigned projects
• Communicate regularly with management and business unit teams

Position Requirements & Desired Skills

• 10+ years of enterprise sales experience in data center, colocation, or telecommunications industries
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong understanding of the Meet Me Room ecosystem and how it relates to properties and the broader market
• Proven negotiation, client management, selling, and closing skills
• Ability to assess customer needs for power, connectivity, and space
• Excellent communicator able to articulate complex solutions clearly
• Detail-oriented problem solver with a win-win mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
• Proficient with Salesforce and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel
• Highly self-motivated with relentless pursuit of new opportunities
• Highest standards of ethical and professional conduct
• Adherence to all company policies and guidelines
