Energy Trader

A leading independent power generator operating across Great Britain and Ireland, specialising in energy trading and market optimisation, is seeking to expand its All-Ireland Trading Team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation within the energy sector. 

Role Overview:

• Execute trading strategies to optimise a diverse generation portfolio, including CCGTs and OCGTs.
• Manage market bids for thermal units in the I-SEM, balancing markets, and gas and power trading within day.
• Oversee asset gas capacity and carbon positions, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Analyse market reports, conduct competitor analysis, and support short-term trading strategies.
• Provide regular updates and reports to management and industry bodies.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience in gas and electricity markets, with knowledge of I-SEM and GB commodity markets.
• Familiarity with gas, coal, oil, and emissions trading.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with market modelling tools.
• Degree or equivalent in data science, mathematics, sciences, economics, business, or finance.

Benefits:

• Competitive salary of €60,000 to €75,000 per annum.
