HSE Manager

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a major data centre project in Germany, focusing on the diesel generator and critical power scope. The role will oversee HSE activities throughout installation, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning, working closely with the project, construction, commissioning and client teams.

Start: November/December 2026
Duration:12 Months + extensions

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HSE activities across the diesel generator and critical power scope.
• Develop and review RAMS, risk assessments and method statements.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting, generator installation, fuel systems, electrical works, energisation and load-bank testing.
• Support Level 1–4 commissioning and integrated testing.
• Ensure compliance with LOTO and permit-to-work procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
• Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and maintain accurate HSE documentation.
• Provide regular HSE updates to the Project Manager and client.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HSE Manager / HSE Lead / HSE Engineer on major construction or data centre projects.
• Experience within data centres, critical infrastructure or power generation.
• Experience with diesel generators and commissioning activities is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of RAMS, risk assessments, LOTO and permit-to-work systems.
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical construction risks.
• Relevant HSE qualification; NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent advantageous.
• Experience working within German HSE regulations and site requirements would be highly beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work within an international project environment.
