About the Role
A leading physical trading business in London is looking to hire an LNG Analyst to sit close to the trading desk and help turn market fundamentals into actionable views across global LNG supply/demand, flows, pricing and risk. This is a front-office aligned role with high visibility, where your analysis will directly support trade ideas and commercial decisions.

You’ll build and maintain a robust fundamentals view of the LNG market, tracking key drivers across basins and translating them into short- and medium-term price/flow expectations.

Key responsibilities
  • Own coverage of LNG fundamentals: global supply, outages, start-ups, maintenance, shipping, storage and demand (power, industrial, weather-driven).
  • Monitor and interpret market-moving events across Atlantic/Pacific and key hubs (e.g., TTF/JKM/HH) and the physical flow landscape.
  • Produce daily/weekly commentary for traders: balances, tightness/looseness signals, marginal cargo economics, and scenario impacts.
  • Build and maintain models/dashboards for:
    • supply/demand balances
    • shipping/ton-mile and vessel tracking insights
    • inventory/storage & regas utilisation
    • weather and power burn drivers (where relevant)
  • Support trade development: identify dislocations, validate theses, stress-test assumptions, and quantify risks.
  • Partner with commercial teams (shipping/ops where applicable) to understand physical constraints and optionality.
  • Contribute to longer-term market studies (new supply, contracting, geopolitics, infrastructure).
What we’re looking for
Essential
  • Proven experience in LNG / gas market fundamentals (desk analyst, research, trading support, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of physical market mechanics: flows, contracts, freight, constraints, seasonality.
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear, decision-useful outputs for a trading audience.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable working with ambiguity and fast-moving information.
