Our client is a nimble and fast-growing independent power producer (IPP) focused on utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across Germany. With a clear strategy centred on co-located solar and storage assets, they are at the forefront of enabling a more flexible and resilient energy system. Backed by experienced investors and a growing development pipeline, the company is now looking to hire a PPA Originator to help unlock commercial value from its portfolio.

The Role - The PPA Originator will lead efforts to secure offtake agreements for solar and storage projects across the German market. With a strong focus on flexible, storage-enabled offtake structures, the position will require a commercial mindset, deep market understanding, and the ability to engage credibly with utilities, corporates, aggregators, and balancing service providers.
This individual will work closely with internal development, finance, and leadership teams to bring market insight into project positioning and support the commercialisation of hybrid assets in an evolving policy and pricing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, and negotiate PPAs for solar PV and battery storage projects in Germany
• Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of counterparties including utilities, C&I offtakers, Stadtwerke, and flexibility market participants
• Track and respond to regulatory and market changes impacting battery and hybrid asset revenue models
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align project development strategy with commercial offtake requirements
• Support the evolution of product offerings to reflect emerging battery use cases and revenue streams

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of experience in energy origination, trading, or structured contracts in the German market
• Strong knowledge of power markets, PPA structures, and ideally familiarity with storage monetisation models
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to engage in both strategic and hands-on work
• Fluent in German and English
• Previous experience in solar or storage markets is highly advantageous
