About the Role

We are partnering with a trading merchant that specialises in US Power (wholesale). They have offices across Chicago and Boston.

Location: Please only apply when you are located, or willing to relocate to Boston / Chicago. 3 days in office (T/W/T).

Responsibilities:

  • Modeling/researching fundamentals to uncover grid congestion insights – supporting multiple ISOs (i.e. ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO).
  • Build and manage models using Dayzer/PSO/Aurora/PROMOD to analyze impact, power flow, predict electricity market prices and identify trade ideas.
  • Maintaining and running production cost models on continuous basis/seasonality i.e. every day check what model says, update or add changes i.e. new outages, generators, new developments, policies/changes etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-7 years of experience across Nodal / Power markets, consulting, ISO or electrical engineering.
  • Production cost modeling experience (open to tooling i.e. PSO, Aurora, Plexos, Promod, Dayzer, Uplan)
  • Nodal focus. ISO agnostic.
  • Firm is able to support VISAs transfer and/or greencard sponsorship.
