Front Office Analytics Lead

Front Office Analytics Lead Contract | £600–£800/day | Outside IR35 - London – 4 days per week onsite

A leading energy and commodities trading firm is looking for a Front Office Analytics Lead to join their high‑performing analytics and technology group. This is a hands‑on, business‑facing contract role where you’ll work directly with traders across oil, agriculture, power, gas, and metals to deliver fast, reliable analytics and market‑data solutions.

You’ll sit at the centre of the trading floor, shaping tools, data pipelines, and analytics that drive commercial decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high‑pressure environments, enjoys solving real‑time front‑office problems, and can lead delivery across multiple desks.

Key Responsibilities

• Work onsite in London 4 days a week to build strong relationships with traders, analysts, and technology teams.
• Partner closely with front‑office users to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver rapid solutions — including hands‑on fixes when needed.
• Lead weekly stand‑ups and drive progress across analytics initiatives and trading desk priorities.
• Develop and enhance Python‑based tools, FastAPI services, BI dashboards, and cloud‑hosted analytics models.
• Collaborate with technology teams to improve pricing platforms and fundamental analytics systems.
• Manage the release and distribution of market and fundamental data to the business.
• Work with external vendors to onboard and validate new data sources.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Front Office Analytics Lead within a trading or commodities environment.
• Strong understanding of fundamental data and analytics across commodities (Oil, Ags, Energy Markets, Metals).
• Advanced Python development skills and strong SQL expertise.
• Solid understanding of market data, market curves, settlement curves, and pricing analytics.
• Ability to work closely with traders, quants, and technology teams in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable operating in a high‑pressure, front‑office setting.
