About the Role
Pangea is partnered with an independent impact-focused fund manager who have recently raised capital for their Energy Transition Fund which targets small debt and equity investments into projects across the energy transition spectrum. Due to very active deal flow, they are looking to hire an Investment Associate into their London team, where you will predominantly focused on the origination and execution of new investments, as well as some portfolio management. This role will be a great fit for a junior investment professional looking to join a lean deal team with great deal flow, with the chance to take on more responsibility and further develop your career.

THE ROLE
  • Evaluating new potential equity and debt investments based on investment analysis and understanding the dynamics of the energy sector
  • Building financial models
  • Review and analysis of target financial statements
  • Understanding and optimising the project contractual structures from a financial perspective
  • Support with drafting investment proposals and investment committee presentations with support and input from investment directors
  • Support in documentation management
  • Support with ESG risk and opportunity analysis
  • Involved in full transaction execution including supporting the negotiation of key terms and documentation
  • Assisting with the preparation of investment committee papers for new opportunities
  • Support with asset valuation reviews
  • Monitoring and review of investment performance

THE CANDIDATE
  • 3-5 years' of relevant M&A and/or debt-focused deal experience in the energy transition/renewable energy space, ideally from a developer, IPP, utility, Big4 corporate finance team, or another similar fund
  • Strong financial modelling skills, with the ability to build them from scratch
  • UK-focused deal experience is preferred
  • A proactive, dynamic, and hard working character would be a great cultural fit
  • Excellent communication skills is essential
  • Must already have the eligibility to live and work in the UK
