A leading global commodities trading firm is hiring a Gas Trading Analyst to sit directly alongside the Nat Gas trading desk in Houston, TX. This is a high-impact analytics role focused on building and owning natural gas supply/demand views and in-depth balances, with direct visibility into commercial decision-making.
You'll be responsible for producing rigorous natural gas fundamentals analysis and forecasts that support trading strategy, risk management, and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain North American Nat Gas supply & demand balances (end-to-end ownership).
- Develop regional and basin-level domestic balances (e.g., Permian, Haynesville, Appalachia).
- Create forecasts from the ground up — not simply inheriting third-party or legacy models.
- Run and interpret forecast error analysis to continually improve model accuracy and confidence levels.
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders on the trading floor, translating fundamentals into actionable market views.
- Demonstrable experience building natural gas balances independently.
- Hands-on experience constructing market balances and explaining key drivers/assumptions to traders.
- Strong forecasting fundamentals and a track record of model ownership.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, performance-driven trading environment with direct desk interaction.
- Python coding experinece would be preferred.
