Senior Gas/LNG Analyst

Leading Trader in London is hiring a Fundamental Gas Analyst to join a small but growing London office, working directly alongside a Senior Trader. This is a genuinely commercial analytics seat: you’ll be responsible for forming views on the gas/LNG market, shaping trade strategy, and helping develop the firm’s EU fundamental models- with scope to take risk over time.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain EU gas fundamentals (supply/demand, storage, flows, LNG balances, scenario analysis)
• Develop market views and translate analysis into trade strategy and positioning
• Partner day-to-day with a Senior Trader to support idea generation and decision-making
• Continuously improve modelling approaches, data inputs, assumptions, and outputs
• Present insights clearly to trading stakeholders (concise, actionable, commercial)

What we’re looking for

• Experience in European gas / LNG fundamentals (analytics, trading support, or research)
• Strong modelling skills (fundamentals frameworks, scenario work, drivers-based thinking)
• High commercial instinct: you can connect analysis to price, risk, and P&L outcomes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment with shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions
