Senior LNG Originator - Singapore

Pangea is representing a European LNG trading company seeking an experienced LNG Originator to lead commercial development across Asia. This role will be responsible for originating LNG opportunities, managing key customer relationships and expanding the company's presence across established and emerging LNG markets.
 
The successful candidate will serve as the primary commercial representative in Asia, working closely with the global trading team to identify market opportunities, execute transactions and provide strategic market intelligence.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary commercial interface for the business in Asia, positioning the organisation as a trusted and flexible LNG counterparty for both short-term trading and long-term supply agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major LNG buyers across Asia, including utilities, national oil companies and independent power producers.
• Develop and manage a network of industry participants, including producers, traders, buyers, infrastructure operators and market intermediaries.
• Reports to the Trading desk in London with Asian market insights, analysis of the regional LNG supply demand dynamics, infrastructure developments (FSRUs, regas terminals) and country specific regulatory frameworks.
• Identify and develop LNG trading opportunities across key Asian markets, including JKTC and high growth markets in Asia.
• Originate spot, mid-term and long-term LNG transactions. 
• Participate in LNG tenders and bilateral negotiations across both established (Japan/Korea/Taiwan) and emerging (India/ASEAN) markets.
• Monitor counterparty creditworthiness and country risk exposure, particularly in price sensitive and developing LNG markets.
• Support onboarding and expansion of the trusted counterparty pool in Asia, including coordination of KYC, contractual frameworks (MSPA), and internal approvals.

Candidate Profile:

• 7–15+ years of experience in LNG, natural gas, energy trading, commercial origination or business development.
• Proven track record of originating and executing LNG transactions within Asian markets.
• Experience gained within energy trading houses, international energy companies, utilities, LNG producers or LNG focused organisation.
• Established network of relationships across LNG producers, buyers, traders and other key market participants.
• Knowledge of LNG contracting frameworks, MSPAs and counterparty onboarding processes.
• Strong understanding of LNG market fundamentals, pricing mechanisms and commercial structures.
• Strong commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred:

• Direct experience covering Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, and/or Southeast Asian LNG markets.
• Experience working within an international trading environment and collaborating with global trading teams.
