Project Manager

I’m currently working with a global EPC company, who support across a variety of industries. Currently they are looking for a Project Manager to support specifically on the auxiliary infrastructure package as part of a €200M project on an existing steel plant in Ghent, Belgium.

This is a contractual position, lasting the duration of the project being 3-4 years, starting ASAP.
 
Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the project management of the complete auxiliary steelmaking scope (>20M EUR)
• You collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners (reviewing schedules for deliverables, formulating civil scopes, enforcing D&E standardization).
• You ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations as applicable.
• You conduct reviews and approvals for documents, drawings and request for change.
• You enable periodic internal reviews and coordination with stakeholders to address gaps and follow-through resolution.
• Proactively escalate any project governance issues that are creating a barrier to project delivery in a timely manner and make suggestions for how they might be brought back to plan.
• Drive continuous process improvements through the project lifecycle, by using lessons learnt and identifying opportunities.
• Analyse improvement areas identified via maturity assessment, evaluate use cases & prioritize and propose actions.
• You will support and report to the SMP project delivery lead of the GP project

 
Profile Description:

• Technical skills
  • Experience in working with EPCM or EPC companies
  • Expertise in Project Management
  • Goal oriented, results driven, takes initiative, leadership and attention to detail
  • Effective communicator, with ability to deal ability to proactively deal with senior executives and stakeholders, persuading them to meet deadlines
  • Proven people management skills

 

• Job experience / other skills
  • +5 or +15 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a similar role
  • Relevant experience in any of these domains is required
    • Process systems (oxygen, natural gas, …)
    • Electro mechanical installations
  • It’s a plus if you have
    • Mining a Metal sector knowledge
    • Professional certification in PMI or Prince2
